Default A short, simple observation.

Theres a lot of people in Guild Wars that either:

A) Disregard the "Trade" tab.
B) Have no idea the "Trade" tab exists.
C) Are completely ignorant to the meaning of "Trade" and therefore disregard the "Trade" tab.

And it's really, really annoying have to listen to people spam whatever silly wares they're peddling when you're trying to meet some new people and have a simple good time in most every town.

its option A.

think about it from the sellers side: you want to sell your item for as much as you can and as fast as you can. therefore, you want the most ppl possible to see what you are selling. since many ppl turn trade chats off in the city, spamming in the local chats maximizes the ppl seeing what they are selling. plus you want to market to not only those that are looking for what you got (those that would have the trade chat on) but also those you didnt happen to be specifically looking for what you got (those with the trade chat off).

i, personally, agree with not spamming in the local. but i know why its done and im ok with it. doesnt bother me so why should i care?
